Biography
Mandi is a communications student, teacher, and practitioner with experience in community relations, web development, and corporate marketing. She is interested in multimedia storytelling, community building and public relations. She boasts skills in web design, video production, and social media marketing.
A big-picture thinker at the core, Mandi is especially interested in using her talents to shape marketing strategy that encompasses multiple channels along the same brand or story focus. Currently, she is employed at a local Milwaukee nonprofit organization, working to build awareness and financial support through print, media, and social media.
A community manager by trade, Mandi began her work in relationship building in a 1.0 world, and has quickly adapted to building a matrix of support online using 2.0 technologies. Her expertise stems from integrating traditional community building techniques with new media strategy, creating offline and online experiences that mirror each other and engage constituents.
Mandi hopes to one day take her expertise to the classroom and teach full-time at the collegiate level. That's her 30-year plan. In the meantime, you can find her at local conferences and university classrooms, speaking as a guest lecturer on how to harness the power of social media to find a job, to support your organization's mission, and how to develop an effective social media strategy for a personal or professional brand.
