Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin

In the summer of 2009, Mandi interned with the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin as part of the multimedia team. She learned about social media guidelines, developing a strategy for an organization's online presence, and how to create interactive web pieces using Adobe Creative Suite. Mandi created an interactive timeline of the tribe's development, researching this history through a variety of internal and external sources and teaching herself Flash along the way.

After her internship ended, she continued her work with the tribe by proposing a website redesign that would showcase how multimedia can be used to share information. As part of this multimedia design, she produced the following videos that share the story of the tribe's past, present, and future as told by tribal elders and government officials.

Our Past.

This video takes viewers through Oneida's cultural and political history to help lay the foundation to learn more about our rich culture and tradition.

Our Present.

This video educates viewers on current tribal operations and success, and teaches of the past traditions that have been sustained in order to embrace our rich cultural history.

Our Future.

This video showcases how we merge the traditions of our past with the development of our future, now and for the Seven Generations.

About the Project

Interviews were shot by a professional videographer and these videos were produced from existing footage in a journalistic style. The narrative of each video was developed by first logging hours of captured film, marking clips of interest, and developing an authentic story from all pieces. Videos were edited using Final Cut Pro 7.
